The Wabash City Schools Board of Education has officially appointed Dr. Christopher E. Daughtry as the district’s next Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2026. Dr. Daughtry succeeds Dr. Amy K. Sivley following her retirement. A seasoned educator, Dr. Daughtry brings 28 years of experience in public education to the role, including 16 years as a superintendent—most recently leading Lewis Cass schools. His extensive background also includes serving as an elementary school principal and an 8-year tenure as a medic in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

This appointment marks a meaningful homecoming for Dr. Daughtry, who served as the principal of Wabash's O. J. Neighbours Elementary School from 2003 to 2006. His deep ties to the community span generations; his parents have lived in Wabash for over three decades, and his wife, siblings, and two youngest daughters are all Wabash High School alumni. Expressing his excitement, Dr. Daughtry noted that returning to the district feels like coming home, while the Board expressed its gratitude to Dr. Sivley for her dedicated service and assistance during the transition.
