Officer Hipskind

Wabash City Schools is proud to share that School Resource Officer R. Sam Hipskind has been named President of the Indiana School Resource Officers Association (INSROA). In this statewide role, Officer Hipskind will lead efforts to strengthen and advance the work of School Resource Officers, ensuring schools remain safe and supportive places for students to learn and grow.


Officer Hipskind has served the Wabash Police Department since 1996 and joined Wabash City Schools as an SRO in 2013. With nearly three decades of service, he has built strong partnerships between law enforcement and education. He holds advanced certifications in school safety, training, and leadership, including recognition as a Master Level SRO through INSROA and a National Practitioner through the National Association of School Resource Officers.


This recognition reflects Officer Hipskind’s deep commitment to student safety and his leadership both in Wabash and across the state of Indiana.
