We offer incredible educational opportunities from early development preschool to post secondary college credit. Your future begins at Wabash City Schools!

Wabash Elementary
At L.H. Carpenter, we are proud to be at the forefront of early childhood education, providing a warm, nurturing environment where your child can thrive. As a Level 3 program in the state's Paths to Quality™ system, we deliver a high standard of care you can trust. Our rich curriculum adapts to the unique learning styles and abilities of each student, ensuring every child receives the support they need to reach their fullest potential.
To build a strong foundation, we offer programs tailored to each early childhood milestone. Our three-year-old preschool focuses on social-emotional growth and building confidence through cooperative play in a gentle, welcoming setting. For older children, our four-year-old Pre-K serves as a dynamic bridge to elementary school, balancing creative exploration with the essential pre-reading, math, and social skills they need to succeed.
When it is time for Kindergarten, we welcome students into an exciting milestone year filled with hands-on activities and wonderful new experiences. We make learning feel like an adventure, fostering a lifelong love of discovery from the very start. We would love to welcome your family to the L.H. Carpenter community—reach out to us today to schedule a tour or learn more about enrollment.

At O.J. Neighbours Elementary, we welcome first through fourth-grade students into an inclusive, vibrant, and highly engaging learning environment. Our mission is to provide a safe, positive space where every child can learn at their own pace through relevant and rigorous instruction. We are deeply committed to preparing our students for the next steps in their education, setting them on a clear path toward future college and career readiness.
We take great pride in celebrating diversity, fostering a growth mindset, and creating a community where all students can grow into well-rounded, lifelong learners. For students seeking extra academic challenges, our dedicated High Ability program expands the learning environment to keep them inspired and pushed to their potential. Above all, our staff works collaboratively to support the whole child—both academically and socially—remaining passionate advocates for our students as they grow within Wabash City Schools and beyond.
Wabash Secondary
At Wabash Middle High School, we welcome students in grades 5-12, providing a unique and supportive transition by keeping our 5th and 6th graders in their own dedicated wing. Our highly qualified staff prioritizes a rigorous curriculum while building genuine, supportive relationships with every student. In the middle school grades, we offer accelerated academic tracks that allow students to earn high school credits early. Alongside our core curriculum, students can dive into exciting courses like STEM, computer science, industrial technology, and a wide variety of arts-based classes.
To keep students engaged and connected, we offer a vibrant selection of clubs, activities, and athletic opportunities—including soccer, softball, and swimming—that match or exceed those of much larger schools.
As they progress, our high school students benefit from a legacy of excellence dating back to 1869. As the thirteenth high school in Indiana to be endorsed as an Early College High School by the Center of Excellence in Leadership of Learning (CELL), we are dedicated to preparing students for success in a global community. We bring creativity and innovation into the classroom through hands-on technology and essential 21st-century skills.
Ultimately, we believe in the "3 E's" for our graduates: ensuring every student is Employable at a living wage, Enlisted in the military, or Enrolled in post-secondary education. We make this vision a reality through highly personalized support, including collaborative 4-year planning conferences with freshmen and their families, and matching students with an advisory teacher who mentors them throughout all four years of high school. Our unmatched course offerings and personal attention ensure every student is prepared for their unique journey ahead.
