Wabash City Schools Press Release Alert!

Students at Wabash Middle School recently took on the Young Writers Association’s national “Fright Night” contest—a unique challenge designed to stretch their creativity and storytelling skills. The task? Write a suspenseful or scary story in exactly 100 words, complete with a clear beginning, middle, and end.
With guidance from Mrs. Indrutz and Mr. Backer, students who initially exceeded the word limit learned to tighten their writing without losing the heart of their story. The result was both rewarding and impressive: over 90 Wabash Middle School students were selected for publication in the contest’s official collection!
We’re proud to celebrate this outstanding achievement and grateful to our teachers for providing such a meaningful, real-world writing experience for our students.
